Shrimp & Sausage Cabbage Bowl
๐ Ingredients
- 450 g (1 lb) shrimp, peeled & deveined
- 450 g (1 lb) smoked sausage, sliced
- 1 small cabbage, chopped
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 onion, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 tbsp olive oil + 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- ½ tsp thyme (optional but ๐ฅ)
- Salt & black pepper to taste
- Optional: squeeze of lemon ๐
๐ Optional add-ons:
- Cooked rice or cornbread
- A dash of hot sauce

1️⃣ Brown the Sausage (Flavor Base ๐ฅ)
- Heat oil + butter in a large skillet
- Add sausage and cook until deep golden & slightly crispy
- Remove and set aside

2️⃣ Build the Aromatics
- In same pan → add onion + bell pepper
- Cook until soft and slightly caramelized
- Add garlic → cook 30 seconds
3️⃣ Cook the Cabbage (Key Step)
- Add cabbage + chicken broth
- Cover and cook 8–10 minutes

- Return sausage → mix well
- Let everything cook 2–3 minutes together
5️⃣ Perfect the Shrimp
- Place shrimp on top (don’t mix yet)
