Southern Sticky Honey-Glazed Wings
Ingredients:
For the wings:
2 lb chicken wings
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1 tbsp oil
For the glaze:
1/3 cup honey
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp ketchup
1 tbsp butter
1 tsp chili flakes (optional)
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C).
Pat the chicken wings dry, then season with salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and oil. Toss well to coat evenly.
Arrange the wings in a baking dish or on a lined baking tray in a single layer.
Bake for 35–45 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
While the wings bake, make the glaze: add butter, honey, soy sauce, brown sugar, ketchup, and chili flakes to a pan over medium heat.
Simmer for about 3 minutes, stirring until smooth and slightly thickened.
Remove the wings from the oven and toss them in the glaze until fully coated.
Return to the oven for 5–7 minutes so the glaze caramelizes and gets sticky.
Serve hot with the extra sauce spooned over the top.
Tip:
For extra sticky wings, broil for 1–2 minutes at the end, but keep an eye on them so they do not burn.
