Easy Fried Churros
If you have flour, eggs, and a few basic ingredients, you can make these crispy, golden churros at home — no oven required!
📝 Ingredients
200 g (1 ⅔ cups) all-purpose flour
250 ml (1 cup) water
50 g (3½ tablespoons) butter
2 eggs
1 tablespoon sugar
10 g vanilla sugar (or 1 teaspoon vanilla extract)
A pinch of salt
Oil for frying
Optional for coating:
½ cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
👩🍳 Method
1️⃣ Prepare the Dough
In a saucepan over medium heat:
Add water, butter, sugar, vanilla sugar, and salt.
Bring to a gentle boil until the butter fully melts.
2️⃣ Add the Flour
Reduce heat to low.
Add the flour all at once.
Stir quickly with a wooden spoon until the mixture forms a smooth dough and pulls away from the sides of the pan.
Continue stirring for 1–2 minutes to slightly dry the dough.
Remove from heat and let it cool for 5 minutes.
3️⃣ Add the Eggs
Add eggs one at a time.
Mix well after each addition until fully incorporated.
The dough should be smooth, thick, and pipeable.
4️⃣ Shape the Churros
Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
Heat oil in a deep pan to 170–180°C (340–350°F).
Pipe strips (about 8–10 cm long) directly into the hot oil, cutting with scissors.
5️⃣ Fry
Fry for 3–4 minutes, turning occasionally.
Cook until golden brown and crispy.
Do not overcrowd the pan.
6️⃣ Drain & Coat
Remove with a slotted spoon.
Drain on paper towels.
Roll in sugar or cinnamon sugar while still warm.
⭐ Tips for Perfect Churros
✔ Oil temperature is key — too hot = dark outside, raw inside.
✔ Dough should be thick but soft enough to pipe.
